From April till July 2015, Patrick Bernier has led talking workshops inside the detention centers of Nantes, Angers, Laval, la Roche-sur-Yon and Fontenay le Comte. Basing his work on the hypothesis that different ways to perceiving current issues could come from those who live them the hardest. He proposed to the participants to imagine themselves heading a ministry of their choice and to use that imaginary power to reconsider the exterior society, ideally without walls nor surveillance.
Having supported the project, the Frac is inviting Patrick Bernier for a restitution through a performance with two actors Béatrice Templé and Jean-François Gascard and the launch of a publication.
This project is part of the Frac’s and la Ligue de l’enseignement’s shared objective of working together in penitentiary environment. As well as reaching the detainees through an artistic process and pursuing Frac’s political and voluntary ambition of public development by giving access to culture and contemporary art.
This project has won the support of the regional direction of culture and penitentiary services (ministries of Culture and Justice)
